This is our 27th Annual United Way Day of Caring, a celebration of community volunteers giving “One Day to Help One Another.” Local volunteers will be matched with projects to provide “helping hands” for services that people, for different reasons, cannot do themselves. Some non-professional service projects include raking leaves, washing windows, other yard work, small painting projects, and more. If you could use an extra hand with a project, please fill out the enclosed Project Registration Form online by October 14th, or mail by October 11th.
- If you wish to have a project completed at your home, please return the Project Registration Form to United Way before Monday, October 14th.
- Day of Caring projects will be completed on Thursday October 24th, Friday October 25th, & Saturday, October 26th. Please mark your calendar.
- The volunteers will arrive at your home within the assigned time frame. Please make sure you are available at these times. We ask that you are present while volunteers are at your home.
- Please provide all the necessary materials to complete your project. For example, if you are having volunteers wash windows, please have cleaning materials on hand.
- Your project may be visited before the Day of Caring so volunteers can get a better idea of your needs.
- Please realize that our volunteers are not professionals and cannot do professional level work.
- Thank you for understanding that volunteers will only complete the project(s) that you have submitted to United Way. Please do not ask the volunteers to complete additional and unexpected projects. The volunteers have other projects to complete that day.
- To avoid injury and keep our volunteers safe, volunteers may not climb extension ladders or use heavy equipment or any toxic or professional level chemicals or materials to complete projects.
- Please do not pay volunteers for their services. The volunteers enjoy visiting with you and want to provide this service to their community. If you wish to donate to the United Way, please send to: United Way of the Brown County Area, PO Box 476, New Ulm, MN 56073.
- Please email United Way if you have any questions. Sandra@unitedwaybrowncountyarea.org
